The British-American rapper released his second studio album on July 2nd, 1991, via Def Jam Recordings.

The album was recorded while Rick was facing a lengthy prison bid for the attemted murder of his cousin and former bodyguard Mark Plummer. He was bailed out by Russel Simmons with the explicit purpose of recording a pair of albums.

It peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200 and number 18 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
