Where’s KRS-One in the pantheon of top lyricists?

May I ask a question? 🙋🏾‍♂️ When I was a freshman in high school I heard Enter the 36 Chambers for the first time. Bring the Ruckus was so vulgar to my virgin ears that I popped the tape out before my mother could snatch it up like she did a year? earlier with Bacdafucup.

I was listening to KRS-One last night and found myself bobbing to a bunch of singles. Many of them without explicit lyrics, which is rare for me to even consider these days (hehe).

Here’s the question. Why don’t I see KRS-One in the top 10-15 greatest lyricists conversation?
