Chino XL – The Mantis (Official Posthumous Music Video)

Chino XL is back once again with another posthumous release, unveiling his latest visual for “The Mantis.” The video features Chino XL performing the track on stage, showcasing his intricate wordplay and unmistakable style. The song was produced by Johnny Slash and directed by Westlyfe.

The visual also includes a crowd reading comic books inspired by Chino XL, along with appearances from his daughters that reflect his personality and passions—most notably his love for Star Wars and comic books.

“The Mantis” is part of the recent posthumous release Prelude to the Mantis, available now on 1332RECORDS.COM.

This marks the final video performance by the late Derek Barbosa, known to the world as Chino XL—an East Coast native who rose through the hip-hop underground in the late ’90s and went on to appear in numerous films and television shows.
